Arlington County Schools are some of the nation's most highly rated schools. The district is small and very well run and provides access to Washington DC's many academic enrichments. Arlington boasts many "choice/magnet" schools. There are several Montessori classrooms, a dedicated Montessori school, a Science Focus Elementary, an Traditional school, 2 Spanish Immersion schools, an IB school,and all that just at the elementary level.

- Hoffman Boston is the designated neighborhood school.
- The nearby countywide public Montessori school starting at 3 years old through 5th grade. Arlington is one of very few school systems in the country that has a Public Montessori option. (application and lottery)
- Randolph is the IB magnet available in the neighborhood.
- Claremont is the selection for Spanish immersion magnet in the neighborhood
- Arlington Traditional is the elementary traditional option. (application and lottery)
Middle Schools

- TJ is the designated neighborhood school. It is also the IB magnet.
- Gunston is the middle school that continues the Montessori approach. It also continues the Spanish immersion program.
- HB Woodlawn is the countywide middle and high school option for an independent /experiential option. (application and lottery)
- Kenmore focuses on Technology and Arts
- Thomas Jefferson Science and Technology in Fairfax County is available to Arlington students too.
